How can technology Play A Role in a K12 classroom

I teach in an ICT cluster school whereby ICT is our niche area and I depend a lot on technology in creating a condusive learning atmosphere. Here are some ways I used technology at school.

Teacher instruction :
* Interactive power points presented using a projector in all subject areas.
* Streaming videos and podcasts projected to support lessons across the curriculum.
* Interactive computer games and programs projected and used to support concepts taught in various subjects taught.
* Assessment programs that project questions and allow students to enter answers by remote.

My students use:
* Game programmes used to support learning across the curriculum during independent work time.
* Drawing programs used to illustrate reports and projects.
* Word processing programmes for reports or written stories
* Internet search
* Power points to create presentations for group findings and assignments
* Typing tutor programmes to educate students in keyboarding skills

With all these interventions throughout my journey, I found out that , as a teacher it is EXTREMELY helpful to have technology in the classroom. I can research or even look up answers on the internet. Being able to present lessons visually using graphics and colorful text makes the lesson more interesting for my students. Having the support of videos and programs also makes lessons more engaging for my students. Technology really enhances the learning experience of my students. It allows them to reinforce their own learning using programs that practice concepts, or even embellish their own projects and presentations. All skills that an adult today should be able to do.
